Tim Stevens
Hi, I’m Tim, a Superintendent here at Criterion. I’m responsible for project planning, inspections, quality control, and job site safety.
What led you to join the Criterion team?
I am a 4th generation carpenter; I’d say construction is in my DNA. Throughout the years I’ve been involved in several extensive projects here in Alaska. Word of mouth brought me to Criterion, and I was excited to join such a reputable company. Criterion has such a talented group of core leaders and I’m happy to be part of such a great team.
What is your favorite part about your position at Criterion?
The ever-changing, daily challenges my position exposes me to. While some jobs are a simple in-and-out tenant improvement others are more complex, like large-scale structural buildings. It’s fun to get into a plan and run with it.
I also enjoy opportunities where I can bond with crew members and subcontractors. It gives me joy to see a final product and happy customers.
What is the best piece of advice anyone has given you?
When I was upset over the smallest project detail, a project manager once told me:
“If it does not matter in five years, do not spend more than five minutes worrying about it.”
